02-694 Error code UVW 1800 Beta SP deck

02-694 error code on UVW 1800

I'm getting a 02-694 error code on my sony UVW 1800 Beta SP deck and the tape won't eject. I've looked through the maintenance menu but nothing seems to help. Any ideas?

look inside the top cover of the unit and follow the directions. you can eject the tape that way
