I had the same problam with my DSC-S40. I've done some research and read some forums. Basically it's screwed. As electronics become more disposable, I hate to say it, but you might just be better off buying a different camera. HOWEVER...if you're like me and think, "But there's gotta be a way..."...here's what i found out. While the camera is on either in camera mode or playback mode, you can gently squeeze the corners of the casing around the LCD screen. This usually will allow the picture to be seen. There was a problem with the LCD design with these cameras and they get "loose" after a while. All else fails, you could always still use the eyepiece and trust your camera knowledge. Afterall, people didn't have LCD screens years ago. :)
