JVC GR-D33U

Shoni Mclain Posted Oct 08, 2006

Having problems with the lense function.

The camera has a prompt that comes up on the screen that says LENSE CAP..but the cap is NOT on ,but we still get a blank screen, and can not see a picture or whatever we are filming. Its blank.I have looked for a reset button. The camera is like brand new and just decided to do this one day when we turned it on.It worked fine just not long ago and has not been dropped or abused in any way..Please if anyone has any ideas what to try to get this function back in its working order , please let me know..Shoni

I have a JVC GR-d33u. It promps me with, 'lense cap is on' but it is not on. I cannot see anything through the view finder. the screen shows The batter life, the zoom and the effects applied, but i cannot see a picture. I can however watch what is currently on the tape and i can record, but it only records a black screen and sound. Please help, It has hardly been used but I have owned it for 2 or more years, so the warranty is expired.

I have had the same problem! I don't know what it is. Did you ever get a sort of warped looking black and white screen? That is how mine started. Please let me know if you find anything out! Good luck!!

We have the exact problem with our camera. The LENS CAP label flashes for about 5 seconds then goes away but the viewfinder or LCD remains dark; even after the lens cap is removed. Has anyone been able to find a solution? Thanks
