Re[2]: Sony kv-35s36

Greg Posted Oct 31, 2006, in response to:Eric

Hi, I have the same problem with my Sony KV-35S36 TV, TV just shut off & wouldn't turn back on. I replaced the shorted output transitor, shorted fusible link, two shorted power converters TV worked great for about 2 days and turned off again & the same exact parts shorted out again? Any help will be greatly appreciated to solve this problem. Greg

There are three things that can cause premature failure of Q502 HOT, which in turn will cause the power supply components to blow. Excessive B+ voltage to the collector of the HOT (should be 135VDC), Insufficient drive (Check for poor solder joints at T501 H.Drive Transformer) and excessive load (Flyback Transformer or other component on the load side).
