Hi. My daughter bought the same camera last week, and we are having the same problem. It says, lens cap is on, when it isn't, and doesn't tape anything but a blank screen, but the sound is great. We've looked ours over and over and decided to take it back and get a different camera. We bought ours at a departmenet store and they don't really know much about cameras. So, we're going to go to Future Shop where they deal in those things. Sorry, couldn't help with your problem. Did you ever solve it?
