Cap Lens Error JVC- GR-430US

My JVC- GR-430U with No uses at all is giving me the Lens CAP error. Has anyone been able to fix that problem? Unfortunately I purchased the Camera and Travel out of the USA and have not been able to record anything at all. I try a Tape from a friend of mine and I can review a recorded Tape from another camera but mine id good for nothing. Can someone offer any help?
