I lost the cd that came w/video camera. Want to download my video to computer. Tried connecting USB cable that came w/camera to computer and camera. Ran camera, pushed PLAY and nothing happened. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi. did you ever find the software to download. If so can you tell me where?

The mini USB slot is only for photo upload. For video, you need to use a FireWire cable. Since my motherboard did not come with FireWire, I had to buy a PCI FireWire card from Radio Shack (costs me $19.99) to plug into my motherboard. Make sure you get the FireWire cable that is mini on one side for the camcorder and regular or mini on the side that goes into your computer (some PC has mini FireWire, others has regular FireWire, and some has both.) Good Luck.

If you have lost the USB driver disc then the only way you will be able to send video into the PC is by using the PC's Firewire input, should it have one. You will also require to have some video capture / manipulation programme installed on you PC, for example Nero 6 or 7 as excellent results can be obtained using this software. By the way the cable you require has a dv socket on one end (the cameras) and either a four or six pin Firewire plug on the other end, it depends on the number of pins your PC socket has.

My video camera did the same thing. Did anybody ever suggest the right way to upload the video? If so, how?
