flash dead

my camera is only 1.5 years old,works great but about 2 weeks ago the flash fail, did everything in the troubleshooting chart, maybe is the flash bulb, how can it be remove, from the front cover flash?,open the camera? batt seen to be ok and the flash indicator will come up when the shutter is press, goes to amber ,a red dot coming from camera but no flash
