Hi, Sorry it took so long to answer.....I did get it fixed.....seems there was a part that needed to be replaced. If you go through Sony....repair is $217++...I "bid" on EBay (search "Repair Service for Broken SONY Digital Camera DSC MVC"...seller ID: alm) and paid $62.00 ($31.00 winning bid plus "parts cost") plus shipping to Canada. The camera is repaired perfectly. Another option is to bid on Ebay for another DSC-S70....you can get one for around $100 plus shipping. Good Luck! Sheila
