I don't know where the two of you live but if you met online and live in different countries (ie. USA & New Zealand) the formats would be different. You wouldn't be able to play it on your camcorder or VHS player because they couldn't recognize the format. I hope this isn't your problem so you can view the tape with a little help from someone.
