Pressbox sound system help!!!

I need help putting together a simple sound system for a high school baseball pressbox. All we need is to be able to play music and announce players, etc.. Would a karaoke system give me what I need or should I buy a powered mixer and seperate CD player? We have good outdoor speakers installed already. Any help appreciated
