on timer light is on, but NO power

Hello! I bought a JVC 32 inch from a friend, we plugged it in at his house, and it worked BEAUTIFULLY! but when I got it to my house (right next door) I plugged it in and now the only thing it does is set there with the "on timer" light on, this little green light starring me in the face, when I push power....nothing happens. I have tried the unplugging it for 4 hours thing and that didnt work, can anyone help me? I paid a good chunk for this thing, and its tooooo nice to just toss THANK YOU in advance Cody
