If we record some of our programs we are not able to see them, they only show every second pictuer

We have a video recorder Sony slv-se700 and a flat screen tv Dell. Some of our channels mostly danish we can record them but only see them on an old tv. Not on our flat screen. Maybe there is a link problem from the video and the tv. Could it be that those channels have gone digital and the video is analog.. it only shows blinking as if it only recieves each second picture??
