I have the same television. Bought circa Nov 98 that suddenly dies August 03. $250.00 later it is up and running. Now it is going out again. So much for the long term use. I have shoes that have lasted longer. I have bought many Sony products, this being the most expensive. Car stereo head units, 10 disc cd changer, many walkmens, alarm clock,dvd player etc. Big fanof Sony. Not a big fan of my Tv dieing. I will have a funeral service for it, anyone can attend. Me it rest in peace, the piece of %#@#*&. Amen
