error code E03 on jvc GR-DV500u
Hello:
I saw your offer to lend advice to people with camcorder problems,
so I'm taking you up on your offer.
I have a JVC GRDV-500u. My original complaint was that the zoom
lever began to automatically zoom all the way in our out when touched.
My bigger problem now is that my mini DV tapes won't record or play.
When I insert them, I receive an error message that the tape head
needs to be cleaned. I bought a Dynex dry minidv head cleaner, but
when I try to use it, I get the error message ""E03 unit in safeguard
mode. Eject and reinsert tape." I've done that, but with the same
results.
I've had a repair estimate of $175.00, but the camera isn't worth
much more than that. Is there any chance that I can fix this camera on
my own?
