Red wavy lines on screen, red lamp malfunction, please help???

I was watching my JVC AV-48WP74 projection TV today, and all of a sudden, there was lots of red wavy lines in the image. I tried auto-convergence to no avail, and tried multiple input sources to verify that the problem is in the TV. I pulled off the rear panel, and there seems to be a problem with the red projector. I hear a humming noise coming from inside the circuit board area on the base shelf where the majority of the circuit boards are. There are three leads on one board near the front, labeled B G R. I unplugged the connector for the R projector, and the noise stopped while the red projector was not operating. The humming noise resumed as soon as I re-plugged the connection. Can anyone help?
