DSC-T1 screen showed unclear images with funny colours and up/down graph lines.

i have a sony DSC-T1 which I havenot used for a long while. Yesterday I turned camera on after charging and the screen showed all funny colours (purple colour shapes) with grid lines up and down. Every thing else works ok even menu options? HELP ? You have any ideas how to fix this. Much appreciated
