jvc gr-d93u camcorder completely shutting off after putting in a dv tape.

The camcorder was working perfectly until my friend put in a cassete tape(it was a dv tape so it wasn't a wrong tape) and then suddenly the camera just shut down completely. No sign of picture on the screen or light. And the bad thing is that the cassette tape wouldnt come out like it would usually do automatically. The tape was put in the right way and i just charged the camera the night before and i don't know why this is happening. Even plugging the power adapter to the camera doesnt work. So please somebody help me out because i don't want to buy another camera.
