Re: Sony DCR-PC5E video camera

Cody Ng Posted Apr 04, 2007, in response to:Tony Yip

Hi Tony, Thanks for your help! I tried both methods but it is still not working. 1. I reset the video cam but the calibration is still off. 2. I followed your instructions for the 2nd method, but there is no cross that appears on the screen at all. When I pressed the Display/Touch Panel button, the screen is just blue but no cross. When I press anywhere on the screen, the normal status stuff, like battery life and tape length comes out. Hope you have other solutions for me. Thanks in advance! Regards, Cody Ng

You need to keep on pressing the [DISPLAY/TOUCH PANEL] button when you switch on your PC5E to VCR mode.

Sorry, I didn't give you sufficient information about the re-calibration when I was rushing for my Easter holiday. You need to (1) switch off your PC5E, (2) press the [DISPLAY/TOUCH PANEL] button, (3) switch on your PC5E again to VCR mode, then (4) use a soft pointer to point to the cross that appears on the screen. I had tried a few times before I can get the cross appeared on the screen. In my case, there was nothing wrong with my PC5E, but just need re-calibration. I found out this trick by calling the SONY service centre. I am not sure whether the re-calibration process is described in the user's manual. Anyway, you can try to seek help from the SONY service centre to re-calibrate your PC5E. It is free of charge and can be done at the SONY service centre within 5 minutes.
