Camera getting old, Recordings are starting to drop frames and is pixelated during playback What cost to fix or is it time to replace I have many 25-35 Tapes with family on them , What to do!!

I bought this Camera new in 2000 and have taken very good care of it. I have shot over 25-35 tapes that I have saved and many more that were recorded over and over for events that didn't justify adding another tape to the collection. I would either like to Repair this machine, buy an 8mm digital vcr if possible. I really don't have lots of money to spend ,but probably could come up with a couple hundred bucks. If any one could offer advice or information I would greatly appreciate it .I live near the DFW area Thanks Kenny
