JVC GR-AXM250U Camcorder

Dwayne Posted Apr 24, 2007

Need advice on problems with optics on camcorder

My camcorder was starting up with "lens cap on" error and at the same time showing vertical lines which would change colors the longer the camera stayed on. What can I do to fix this? Also, can I purchase just the electrical parts of the optic block assembly, or do I have to replace the entire optic assembly?

I have JVC Camcorder Model GR-D22U which have the same problem as you described for your model GR-AMX250U. The cause of this is a failed CCD sensor. The model GR-D22U has been recalled by JVC for free repair (untill Oct 2007). Why don't you call JVC if your model has been recalled too? Otherwise, just contact your nearest JVC service depot for part. The CCD sensor costs about $75 CAD. Hope this info will help. K.H.
