Mp3/Mp4 Player keeps giving a disk error.

my mp3/mp4 player keeps giving me a disk error everytime I go to the music on it. I can't even add new music. On another site it explained on how to format, but it said the file system with either be FAT or FAT32, and mine is RAW! So what do I do now?
