Thanks for the reply I have taken the battery out but it did not help. The last time the camera was used was on a hot day her in the philippines and maybe coming in caused some condensataion inside the case. Do you think I should try and open the case to see, or leave it to a service technician here in Manilla, if I can find one. The point being that if there is condensation in the case it has been a week so the damage is probably already done. Is there anything that could go wrong if I do open the case as in any springs that might pop out making the whole thing a nightmare Thanks again for your help on this John
