I get a E:61:10 error code. It won't focus

Every time I turn the camera on , I get a E:61:10 error code. The camera will not auto focus. Focus seems to be locked at one distance. It doesn't matter whether its on disk or memory stick. Anyone know a remedy, or is it trash?
