DVD won't accept/Play any Discs,

I have had this JVC AV-20FD23 TV/DVD combo player for about 4 years and for no obvious reason it just stopped initalizing/reading Discs of any kind. Error message says "incorrect disc" to anything inserted. Would a DVD/CD "Lens Cleaning Disk" be a possible fix? I have heard mixed reviews about them.Much Thanks for any ideas....Chris
