Camera Sony memory stick C:13:01 error

dandeliondream Posted Aug 11, 2007

The solution is meant for sony camera only. I am not sure if there are similar function in other hardware.

Ok, i too encountered C:13:01 error on my sony memory stick last week after i formatted it on the PC. The best way to solve this problem is to insert the sony memory stick back to the sony camera and go to Setting or Setup. Look for FORMAT setting (IMPORTANT) Upon entering, the sony camera interface will ask if you wish to format the memory stick, select OK. FORMATTING will start.... after a while, change to shot mode, there is no C:13:01 error message.

To retreive pictures already taken you can download a free program from www.pcinspector.de I had problems downloading their recovery program directly so I googled pcinspector recovery and found it under www.snapfile.com After going to that site, you can then download the pcinspector file. After the load is complete, attach your camera to the PCs usb port, turn on the camera, and under file settings of the pc recovery program select intensive. Afterward, select the appropriate usb drive and press jpg format and select start. This should retrieve the pictures.
