Re: SONY DSC-T1 LCD SCREEN REPLACEMENT PARTS

Lisa Varble Posted Aug 22, 2007, in response to:Thomas D

Hello..:) I've recently discovered that the LCD screen on my Sony digital camera is now broken/cracked from the inside. (We were made to leave our camera bag in a storage room while at a Rams football game, and it was returned to us damaged.) I have no idea if it was dropped, or maybe hit against something else? Anyhow, every thing else seems to work fine. I can still take pictures, the zoom lens works properly, etc. I can also still download new pics to the computer and they look fine like before it was damaged. However, I can't see anything on the screen...just that 'rainbow effect' that you get when the screen/crystal is broken. I don't know much about cameras..(Only that I can't live without it!) I keep seeing "DSC T1" on several other post but don't have a clue as to what that means. Please allow me to list all of the info that is on the camera. If you do happen to have the type of screen I need, I'll be placing my order pronto! :) Here you go: It is a Sony Cyber-Shot with a 2.5" LCD Monitor. The top of the camera reads: '4.1 Mega Pixels - MPEG-MOVIE VX'...It reads '3x Optical Zoom' on the right side, and has a retractable zoom lens. The sticker on the bottom reads: (Model #) DSC-S90...Then there are two different sets of numbers on the bottom left of the sticker, one set above the other. (I don't know if these are important, but I'll give them to you just in case.) The top numbers are in much smaller print than those on the bottom... Top #'s: 2-595-416-41 ... Bottom numbers (which are in a white box) are: 9040805. I'm sorry for the long message..:) I just wanted to give you as much detail as possible. Please let me know if this can be repaired by replacing the screen, and if the cost is worth doing so. I have only had it for about a year or so. I have no idea of what the purchase price was, (It was a gift) or what it is worth now. Any advice or info you could give would be great! Thanks so much! -Lisa Varble
