Re[4]: dead sony kp53hs10 big screen

Venus Posted Sep 27, 2007, in response to:GWEN DELA CRUZ

Hi. We also had the same issue with fluid leaking in our Sony. We paid a guy $50 to figure out what the problem was!!! Of course, we had no idea he would charge us for that. We ended up hiring a technician guy (freelance person we foudn somehow - it's been about three years since we had to get it fixed) and he fixed the problem. We paid him about $650. The other guy estimated it would cost like $800!!! Anyway, the person who ended up fixing our TV told us that it was a manufacturer defect that caused the leaking but since our TV is pretty old, it was most likely not under warranty - my husband got it in 1995. I wish I could give you more information but I wanted to tell you that the same thing happened to us. And now, today, our TV will not turn on - the red light flickers then shuts off. It was working fine earlier this evening and then my husband shut it off. Now it won't turn back on. We might have to contact the repair man who fixed it since he guarantees his work for 6 years (but we don't know where we put his contact information!!!). I hope your issue was resolved?
