Jeremy Posted Nov 11, 2007

JVC AV35750 picture becomes a single horizontal line intermittently. Sound is OK. Some times we also see stray horizontal lines across the screen.

JVC CRT TV AV35750 picture becomes a single horizontal line intermittently. When we turn it off and back on (after 30 or sec), the picture comes back. We are also seeing stray horizontal lines across the screen. The sound is OK. This CRT TV is about 10 years old. Thank you.

sorry, gave you bad info on last answer. check the VERTICAL deflection circuit for intermittent solder joints, etc. the stray horizontal lines still may be caused by incorrect screen voltage setting, bad cap, etc (in HORIZONTAL section)

sounds like a problem in the horizontal deflection circuit - could be a broken solder joint, a capacitor problem, bad HOT, etc. the stray horizontal lines also point to a problem in the horizontal circuit, perhaps screen voltage is too high, or a hold-down capacitor is going bad.
