how to fix this problem?

i have a question regarding a jvc product. i purchased the mx-g500 4 years ago, and for the past 2-3 years it hasn't played nearly any of my cds. i can buy a brand new cd and put it in there and it wont play it, yet there are probably two or three that it will for some odd reason play. Is there anyway to fix this other than going out and buying a new stereo system?
