Kodak CX6330 that won't power up on battery but works fine on docking station

My Kodak CX6330 won't power up even when I put new batteries in it but if I attach it to the camera dock 6000 it works just fine. The Kodak trouble shooting guide told me to remove the battery and clean the contacts. I did and it still didn't work. It then said to send it to an authorized repair facility, that the problem wasn't fixable by the owner. Any suggestions would be helpful. Greg
