Re: Sony Trinitron TVs

Tom Posted Jan 01, 2008, in response to:anonymous

Sony trinitron kv27S10 serial 7097609. Bought around 1998 lasted 5-6 years turned black and shut off in the middle of a show, hasn't worked since. Bought a Mitsubishi, but have held onto the Sony with the hope that I would find a solution.

That's funny, ..well..sort of. I gave my 25" Mitsubishi to my mother-in-law when I bought my Sony 32" WEGA about 8 years ago. The Mitsubishi is still working great for her, I bought it new in 1982, but my Sony has the same problem everyone else here is talking about. The standby light flashes 8 or 9 times and will not come on. I have not tried the hair dryer trick yet but will today. Usually, we just have to keep hitting the power button for it to come on. Now, it just won't come on. Sony is not what it used to be. I have Sony VCRs, DVD, CD Players , etc, and all but the VCR is out. Replaced most of the items with Panasonic equipment. All working great! Going back to Panasonic. Had much better luck with them. NO MORE SONY toys in this house!!
