i am a panasonic technician in south africa and i can really laugh at this guy and understand the frustration of the others.firstly there was a problem with the mx 500 ccds which panasonic replaced free of charge even after the warranty period expired .ccds are rare faults and an expensive part which panasonic knew and found exactly the problem down the manufacturing of the ccd and know exactly the serial nos of all the mx500 that was fitted the defected ccd.second if use a ccd from another camera or replace a new one an allignment to the camera needs to be done unless the colours will not be right. simple ccd theory ,no 2 ccd's are indentical. the reset problem that occurs may be 20 different problems but shows the the syptom of reset so making it seems to be like a common problem. the is lots of advantages of having this feature .email me for advice . panasonic i think is the best camcorder u can buy .
