This is due to the unit being in safe mode. Leave the unit unplugged for 30-45 min. If this does not work, try again. Also, give the 1800 number a try too.

I'm having the same problems and I came across this review that gave a solution. Here is the summary. The reason the unit is shutting off after 3 seconds is because it is is safe mode. This can be caused by a power surge or outage. The customer service/support guy recommend leaving the unit unplugged for 30-45 mins to reset. It should work afterwards. However, for the reviewer it needed to be repeated within the same day. So I suppose if it continues repeat. Hope you find this helpful.
