Re[2]: JVC Camcorder playback problem

Hannu Hanhi Posted Jan 09, 2008, in response to:JB38

How the problem could be caused by dirty tape heads if the camcorder works fine until it warms up. As i wrote it might work fine about half an hour. First when the problem starts there may be interference (mosaic on some part of picture) sometimes and when the playback goes on the interference is increasing and there is also breaks on audio at the time of interference on picture. If it is something mechanical, is it worth to repair because costs can be so high that new camcorder (same level) is cheaper? However my email: Hannu.hanhi@hotmail.com

Re your problem, I am not actually saying that it is the heads but only that this is the only thing you could try, as indeed would be the first thing tried on any service workbench when this type of problem is encountered, albeit for process of elimination purposes! The audio can of course also be affected by a dirty / faulty head as the audio comes off the same head as the video, however I send the cleaning info on to enable you to at least try this first before deciding on other measures.
