JVC 30 inch tv has black box on screen

My remote control is missing the "exit" button. My TV has a black box on the screen (like the one that goes around the frame while you are programing the tv) ...it may be stuck in some programming mode....During power up and when I switch channels it momentarily goes away, but then comes back...Can you help MJ
