Camcorder GR-AX910U quit working

I have a jVC VHS camcorder serial number 10482170, It was working fine one evening, we were watching a video and was fast forwarding to end of part of the tape and then the unit shut off, when I tried to repower the unit, it comes on for about 2 seconds and flashes and E07 error message and then turns off. It won't stay on even long enough to eject the tape out of the camcorder. What happened? and am I going to have to destroy this thing to get my tape out?
