Importing into Windows Movie Maker

I just bought one of these cameras. Very happy with it so far. My problem is importing the video files in to Windows Movie Maker. I've backed the files up in to the "My Works" folder, so it can play on Windows Media Player, but when I try to import it, this message comes up. "The file C:\MyWorks\EverioBackup\1e690012f501\PRG001\MOV003.MOD is not a supported file type, and it cannot be imported into Windows Movie Maker." Can anyone help me? Would be much appreciated.
