JVC Camcorder Model No GR-D90U

Christina Brooks Posted Jan 22, 2008

My JVC camcorder LCD screen is temperamental. Sometimes it works and other times it is a blank white screen with colored lines on it and sometimes it is just off when it should show what I've recorded or when I'm recording.

It records the video and sound, however, there are times when I cannot see what should be visible on the LCD screen. When I hook it up to the TV I can see the picture on the TV, but not on the LCD screen. What do you think is the problem with the camcorder?

As your problem is intermittent, and of an erratic nature which can cause misleading symptoms / diagnosis, I would advise you to at all times when you see the lines on the LCD to also check if the same applies in the viewfinder, the reason I advise this is because your model can suffer from the lens cap problem and what you describe can be a well known symptom of it occurring. If however that never occurs then the reason is most likely what the other posting has suggested, but if by any chance it does then thats a faulty image sensor, and which unfortunately the special free repair offer by JVC on this expired at the end of 2007.

Hi Christina Brooks do you know there is one thin connector from lcd to main circuit, that is the only problem with your camera get it replaced from jvc authorised service centre. uday
