Re: SONY DCR-TRV310

Jerry S Posted Jan 23, 2008, in response to:Elmer

I have been repairing camcorders for over 20 years and came upon this list while searching for some information about this model. I know the answers to practically all of the inquiries on it as they are common problems for the model. I started to answer some but soon realized that you are not going to like the answers. You are looking for simple answers to complex problems requiring expensive special equipment for diagnosis and adjustment after replacing parts. One person is looking for a backlight when it is more likely a flexible cable or hinge defect. Another is looking for a lense when the problem is likely a defective image sensor (which does not come with the lense) or a stuck iris. The error code posts are likely corroded ribbon cable connections internally. Some units will require a complete slider chassis to fix. Others have buttons or zoom that does not work caused by corrosion or defective control panel assemblies. All expensive parts and difficult to replace.
