Everything works except it won't take a picture and nothing shows up on the screen

I have a DSC-P51. The screen will show functions and such but it will not show pics or anything. I figured the screen broke so I took pics anyway through the view finder. The photos are just black when I transfer them to my PC. The shutter does function I can see it work but no pictures. I tried the reset button on the bottom. Nothing. Any tips tricks or estimates?
