That model can suffer from a defective image sensor having been fitted, JVC having had a special "free" repair offer for this fault running for the last 30 months or so, however this expired at the end of Dec 2007. That said "if" you are the original owner and have a receipt to prove this, then contact JVC customer services wherever you are located, as feedback has indicated that in many cases JVC "may" still honour the free repair offer.
