E-02 indicates that there is a problem with the take off cassette spindle, this most likely sticking in some way. All E-02/03 codes are associated with spindle problems and in many cases its the actual cassette being used that is the cause of the trouble, however if the problem does not correct itself when trying another cassette, then unfortunately it requires the camcorder casing to be removed to carry out further investigation of the drive mechanism.
