Panasonic DVD recorder DMR-ES10

No recording

Anybody ever came across No rec problem in DMR-ES10?Playback of dvd and cd vcd perfect. but if I try to record from any source ,the REC is displayed (on monitor and display of the set). The dvd spins but remains blank. I tried with different brands of DVD (DVD R/W). Changing optical pick up unit didnot help.Formating a DVD R/W works well. I can Name the DVD.but doesnot record. any advice? Thanks and regards
