help with tv

I work for a non-profit reuse organization in Chicago. We were recently given a sony videoscope-manufactured in 1992 which looks like it could be valuable. I believe the owners when they say it worked fine. But now I plug it in and it does absolutely nothing. Is there some thing that needs to be done other than plugging it in to get it to work? And, as a resale organization, what would be a reasonable price for such a unit, assuming that it works? Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. thanks john
