Sudden Sony Death (SSD)

Wow, I feel lucky mine lasted 14 years. Purchased 9/94, but it died last night and will not turn on at all. Checked all plugs, etc. This happened a few hours after I had unplugged the VCR ... coincidence? I don't know. But, I won't repair - will try the hair dryer and a couple of hits. Sorry for everyone's trouble with these - we have the 32" in the basement - still working, but poor picture.
