Canon A410: Distorted and blurred image problem

I've a Canon A410 camera about 3 years old. Suddenly I'm getting a blurred image on the LCD and similar image is captured if I click the photo. I can't see anything on LCD ... all I see are vertical multicoloured pattern. Another friend of mine has a same model and he is also facing the same problem. Can someone suggest where I can get it repaired and what could be the cost/time. Thanks - Dharam
