Crowbar tool on JVC camera

Hey there Stacy ... you havin' a good day? I found ya on the internet I'm in Houston and have a JVC digital video camera (Model No. GR-DVL817U) where the tape "basket" won't open. I think the motor or drive just stopped working. When I open the main door nothing happens with the tape basket..it just stays shut with no sound nor motion. Should I try wedging a massive screw driver in there and then bangin' it with a hammer?....or better yet should I use a large crow bat? ....actually, I thought I'd email you first (humor is good for the soul ;-) So do you think you can help me? If so, where do I drop it off for repair here in Houston?... have you repaired this kind of problem before? gotta ballpark estimate for the repair/fix costs? Thanks in advance Stacy, -Dennis
