Stuck Tape

My eject tape mechanism is not working. When I open the door the reject process cycles but stops before the last part where the tape port opens. Is there a way to get the tape out by bypassing the electronic process? I have an error message to "eject tape" but I cannot eject the tape. Help Thanks, dep
