Re: To attach my JVC GRSXM470A camcorder to computer

JB38 Posted Oct 02, 2008, in response to:Dr. A.K. Kulshrestha

The statement made in the manual is a misleading one as it gives the impression that you can transfer video into a PC when in actual fact you cannot, as the camcorders output is analogue which cannot be fed into a PC, that is unless the PC is fitted with a special analogue capture card, which to be quite frank about it is not worth the cost. Its far better to transfer the video taken via the supplied A/V cable into a DVD recorders A/V input sockets, and once done put that into the PC. It should be noted that the DVD recorder used for this does not need to be one of the high tech types, as the relatively cheap bottom end types give great results when used for this purpose. (would choose a DVD recorder of the DVD-R / RW type) The JLIP lead mentioned is only for editing, and in most cases useless unless both devices has the same facility, something which does not really apply very often unless only JVC devices are being used.
